Experience

Software Engineer Intern, MITRE
Summer 2023

- Enabled real-time continuous metrics collection of GPS and connectivity data by developing embedded 5G modem software in low-level C.
- Implemented RTSP server supporting real-time FFMpeg video upload, streaming, and saving using Docker containerization, and deployed remote Linux O-RAN program emulator.
- Integrated Google Earth Engine API, custom data filtration, linear regression, and rolling average options to bespoke metrics visualization dashboard using Python and JavaScript.

Data Science Research Assistant, Stanford Sociology
Summer 2023

- Worked as a programming and data modeling assistant to a Ph.D fellow to study the role of race and business on widespread gentrification across 10 Major U.S. cities.
- Developed Python, R, and MySQL scripts implementing variable-based methods of gentrification analysis to nearly 10,000 U.S. Decennial Census tracts over a period of 20 years.
- Aggregated and interpreted over 800,000 enterprise datapoints to corresponding local gentrification variables, considering class and racial composition using geolocation.

Summer Learning Intern, AT&T
Summer 2020

- Completed 80-hour course regarding media design, 5G networking, corporate structure, machine learning, online entrepreneurship, and team management.
- Participated in an introductory teamwork project, simulating the management of WarnerMedia.

Independent 3D Modeler
2019 - 2021

- Developed over 50 high fidelity 3D assets for use in motion pictures and animation.
- Optimized quadrilateral 3D topology for visual effects use, reducing vertex count and file size by a factor of 500.
- Created highly modified version of Cycles Render Engine for 20% improvement in compute time in certain applications.
- Pioneered streamlined workflow for procedural texture generation, leading to the creation of over 300+ high efficiency PBR textures.

Web Developer, HOWARD360
2018-2021

- Programmed and developed node.js school study hall website resulting in the distribution of over 18,000 digital hall passes and the elimination of over 3,000 wasted sheets of paper.
- Operated and maintained a remote Linux server capable of housing over 10,000 requests per minute.
- Devised and implemented cloud-based securities solution preventing weekly bot-related outages.

Founder, HowardHumantiarian
2018-2020

- Founded non-profit initiative designed to provide accessible media regarding international humanitarian crises.
- Organized the planning and execution of quarterly bake-sales raising over $250 dollars annually for charity.
- Spearheaded the creation of the organization website and weekly newsletter.

About Me

Hello there! My name is Harviel and I am a computer + data science student at Stanford University.

My interests include, machine learning, UX/UI design, 3D modeling and rendering technology, and image systems engineering.

In my free time I love to watch movies, hangout with friends, meander around and take slow walks, 3D model random objects in Blender, and do (not very good) photography!

Projects

Splitcheck

Splitcheck is an iOS App for splitting bills between numerous people. It allows the user to calculate individual totals among a group fairly. It also supports tip calculation and saved contact lists.

I built and designed SplitCheck completely from scratch in Xcode using Swift. It is supported on all iPhones and is currently pending full release on the iOS App Store.

Among the custom mechanisms developed in this project include contact structure savable as persisting data, realtime list multiselection, and UI/UX consistency extensions.

A machine vision update is underway that will allow the user to simply take a picture of their receipt and distribute the items among the group.
